The answer to the why’s of life are often found in my own accountability before God.
Why do bad things happen? Because that’s a part of life.
Why do they seem to get worse and worse? Because we often ignore our problems, blame others, look for excuses, etc.
The answers to those why’s comes when we face our own truth and reality and humble ourselves before God, admit our own sins and failures and find forgiveness, peace and joy from within.
God takes away those burdens that cause us to keep asking why? why? why? and replaces them with truth and reality and the way out.
The devil can’t do anything you don’t allow him to or give him permission to do. That’s the truth. Everything that happens in our lives is a direct result of the choices we make; reaping what we sow. Some things, like your car breaking down and being towed, or losing your job, or having a to go to court, etc, happen out of our own ignorance and stubbornness. But then you get caught in a jam and it looks like the world, and the devil, are out to get you and take you down.
While it’s true that the enemy is out there, prowling like a roaring lion, seeking to devour you, you’ve always got the power of God’s word to lead you out. So roar louder with the truth and authority of God’s word.
When we turn our lives fully over to God, on the inside of our heart, there’s no more running. No more excuses. No more running with the devil. Because that’s what we’re doing when we give Satan the keys to our peace and happiness.
Psalms 16:1-11 NKJV
[1] Preserve me, O God, for in You I put my trust. [2] O my soul, you have said to the Lord, “You are my Lord, My goodness is nothing apart from You.” [3] As for the saints who are on the earth, “They are the excellent ones, in whom is all my delight.” [4] Their sorrows shall be multiplied who hasten after another god; Their drink offerings of blood I will not offer, Nor take up their names on my lips. [5] O Lord, You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup; You maintain my lot. [6] The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; Yes, I have a good inheritance. [7] I will bless the Lord who has given me counsel; My heart also instructs me in the night seasons. [8] I have set the Lord always before me; Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved. [9] Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will rest in hope. [10] For You will not leave my soul in Sheol, Nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption. [11] You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
