Early will I seek you.
It is so important to start our day in prayer. When I awake each morning, before my feet hit the floor, I will surrender my day to the Lord, because the world will come at me with its own agenda, and voices that will compete for my attention, to occupy my mind and keep me focused on myself and my problems, worries and concerns. The enemy’s goal is to keep me so busy worrying and gripped by fear and anxiety, that it binds me up like a strongman holding me in a bear hug.
It starts with my soul and who’s in charge. If I deny myself, take up my cross and follow Him, through prayer and meditating on scripture, which is the living power of God, then my mind will be renewed and transformed instead of conforming to the image of this world. Then I will be able to put on the mind of Christ, walk in the Spirit and live my day as a freewill offering and sacrifice to God.
Then this parched and thirsty, barren land within me will not be controlled by the world or its god, Satan, the enemy of God, and our souls. Jesus Christ is the living water through which our spiritual thirst is quenched and refreshed daily. He is our sanctuary, our place of worship, safety and protection from the enemy, warring against our soul.
This is the place where His living power and glory dwell, as He sits on the throne of my heart. Every morning I must willingly lay down my soul and my will, so that He can continue to do His mighty work within me, for His kingdom and His glory, enabling me to live out His great commandment to love Him with all of my heart, mind, soul and strength, AND my neighbor as myself.
This is the ultimate will of God for His creation; love! A personal, one on one, Mano e Mano relationship with each of us individually, so that we can live together in love and unity.
Psalms 63:1-11 NKJV
[1] O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You In a dry and thirsty land Where there is no water. [2] So I have looked for You in the sanctuary, To see Your power and Your glory. [3] Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, My lips shall praise You. [4] Thus I will bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name. [5] My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness, And my mouth shall praise You with joyful lips. [6] When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches. [7] Because You have been my help, Therefore in the shadow of Your wings I will rejoice. [8] My soul follows close behind You; Your right hand upholds me. [9] But those who seek my life, to destroy it, Shall go into the lower parts of the earth. [10] They shall fall by the sword; They shall be a portion for jackals. [11] But the king shall rejoice in God; Everyone who swears by Him shall glory; But the mouth of those who speak lies shall be stopped.
