There is a living and active power in God’s word that penetrates our heart and our thoughts and transforms us by renewing our minds and delivering us from immorality and lustful desires that the enemy will use to destroy us from the inside out (proverbs ch. 5).

Sexual immorality in all of its genres; adultery (marital unfaithfulness) formication (sex between unmarried people) homosexuality (sex between those of the same gender) , etc; all draw on a man’s human nature and natural lusts and desires for sexual pleasure and release. But God’s design and plan is for a man to have his wife.

However, we live in a fallen world that is not subject to the will of God, nor can be, because the will of God is only discerned by those who have “ears to hear” the word of God. The world is under the sway (influence) of the god of this world, Satan. This is why the law as written in the Old Testament was given; to tell people what they already know on the inside, in their conscience, what the righteous requirements are. From the beginning; from the fall of Adam, until the coming of Jesus Christ, the Messiah and Savior of the world, mankind turned away from his Creator.

When Adam disobeyed God, the fall of man commenced, only to be destroyed when Jesus Christ died on the cross, as the Lamb of God; the atonement and propitiation for our sins. When Jesus uttered the words “IT IS FINISHED” the vail of the tent of the Tabernacle was torn on two, symbolizing the end of sin, death, the law and Satan!

The entire New Testament is the record and testimony of what the Old Testament prophesied of and prepared God’s people for. The world, still under the control of the devil, until the day comes when Christ returns and calls the church, the body of Christ, home and the remaining prophecies of Revelation, Daniel, Ezekiel, etc are fulfilled in Israel and in the Church.
